Hormone Testing & Therapy At Medical Spa's In Europe

Being At The Mercy Of Your Hormones And What Should You Do If You Suspect!

Ok lets get right down to it, but I will cut this short as literally one could bang on for hours about hormones, treatment and such. I am no medical expert or health professional so this article is as a based on my own many years of trials and tribulations with hormone conditions. The post also came about due to speaking with a number of friends over the last week or so who have also been diagnosed with fluctuating or apparently borderline diagnoses's.

Our hormones can affect so many processes in our body including our weight, health, mood, behaviour, growth and more. Hormones are chemical messengers in the body that travel in the blood to organs and tissues signaling them to do the work they were designed to do. These messengers are created in the endocrine glands and control most major bodily functions from simple basic needs such as hunger to complex systems such as cardiovascular health and the reproductive system. When they are in proper balance, hormones help the body thrive, but small problems with hormones can cause serious and life-altering symptoms. Men and women both have hormones, and hormone levels change and develop as an individual grows and ages.

Many symptoms of hormone conditions can easily be mistaken for something else and therefore easily overlooked, however, when properly diagnosed may be relatively straightforward to remedy. So, if you are suffering from any chronic condition or are feeling really under the weather then seek assistance immediately.

I'm a firm believer in all things holistic but when it comes to your hormones the effects can be pretty serious. Do I feel that you should jump right in with mainstream medication? Not necessarily, but, hormone conditions are something that you can't fanny about with or sit on the fence about. Nor can you self diagnose or flit about, fluffing around with herbal treatments to cure it. Once you are professionally diagnosed then you can use herbal medicine and nutrition to support your body.

There are a number of seriously good private endocrinologists and functional doctors out there who will give you a full screening and your results will come back very quickly. And, if you are not happy about the results then seek alternative advice. Once you are diagnosed you can formulate a proper plan of action based on your complete results.

There are a number of brilliant medical spa's both in Europe and further afield which have specialised program's for hormone screening & therapy. You could book yourself in for the screening and also enjoy a number of other theraputic and restorative treatments at the same time.

I have had a horrendous time at the mercy of my hormones. My problem started in my teens when I used to get horrendous PMT. If you have a daughter or are experiencing these symptoms yourself then DO NOT suffer. After many years of infertility I found a wonderful charity who got me tested and prescribed treatment, shortly afterwards I fell pregnant. The charity can also help women and girls with serious PMT, so if you suffer with this horrendous condition seek help and you may soon be on the road to leading a more balanced, less painful life. I know that It's a condition that many suffer with albeit on various levels but lets be honest, it's NOT normal to feel so poorly and almost demon like when it comes to that time of the month.

Because I didn't push for thorough endocrine testing at the beginning it resulted in me suffering a number of heartbreaking miscarriages I also had a number of other conditions which resulted in me having a number injections and implants in my stomach to control certain hormones. Even after experiencing the miscarriages I didn't take my endocrine health very seriously until after giving birth at 44 I was rushed into hospital for tests on my heart as it was suspected that I had post partum cardiomyopathy (which is an uncommon form of heart failure that happens during the last month of pregnancy or up to five months after giving birth. PPCM is a dilated form of the condition, which means the heart chambers enlarge and the muscle weakens) Luckily, I only had an ectopic heartbeat which in itself is not serious.

A number of these spa's are reachable by small aircraft which can depart from an airfield close to your home and land at smaller, more local airports, which, considerably cut's down the travelling time and in my opinion takes away the hassle of using low cost airlines. These days, travelling privately need not break the bank (honestly) and if there are a number of people who can travel with you then chartering a small plane may make sense especially if you are working around tight or conflicting schedules.

Next week I'll be writing a review on the top 5 medical spa's in Europe, If you are interested in any kind of spa break or would like advice on medical spa's treating hormone conditions then please contact me on 07866 921723 gaynor@designertravel.co.uk
